Developing the leadership of students & new InterVarsity staff for the future of ministry in InterVarsity, the church and the marketplace.
For decades InterVarsity at the U of I has been on the cutting edge of campus ministry, increasing the effectiveness of our native evangelism strategy--Christian students leading Bible study with non-Christians, taking the quality of training and support for Small Group Leaders from good to great, and honing our training curriculum and coaching of students who are leaders of leaders.
With an increasingly post-Christian student generation, we are needing to adapt current ministry strategies and also learn new strategies to disciple students who will be resilient and faithful exiles in this world.
One of the limiting factors is money needed to get students to conferences and retreats. Your investment in their training lowers the barrier for students who are ready to learn and grow but have limited ability to cover the cost themselves. This is especially true for more expensive trainings and conferences like the Urbana Missions Conference.
